Description

The ADO Air 28 Pro and Ultra take everything that works about the Air 28 and add the thing that makes the biggest practical difference to daily commuting: automatic gears that shift themselves. No levers. No technique required. No wrong gear at the wrong moment.

The Pro runs a Bafang H700 2-speed automatic hub. The Ultra upgrades to the Bafang H730 3-speed for a wider gear range — particularly useful on hillier routes or for riders who want the smoothest possible transitions across varied terrain. Both shift continuously and invisibly, so you can focus on the ride rather than the mechanics of it.

The step-through that grows with your route

The upright step-through frame and relaxed riding geometry make the Air 28 Pro/Ultra instantly comfortable from the first pedal stroke — no adaptation period, no stiff back after a longer commute. The torque-sensed assist responds naturally to your pedalling effort, and the carbon belt drive keeps everything silent and grease-free beneath you.

Practical details that add up

The Air 28 Pro/Ultra is fitted with puncture-proof 700×45c tyres, hydraulic disc brakes, automatic sensor lighting, and a 3.5" IPX7-rated colour display with app connectivity. The battery is a 37V 10Ah unit — slightly larger than the base Air 28 — and the automatic hub’s efficiency typically means you’ll get more from each charge.

If you want a step-through commuter e-bike that handles gears, hills and daily life without demanding anything from you — the Air 28 Pro/Ultra is the one to consider.

Key Features

Automatic Internal Gear Hub — Pro (Bafang H700, 2-speed) / Ultra (Bafang H730, 3-speed) — Shifts itself based on your cadence and incline. Zero input required. The Ultra offers a wider gear spread for hilly routes and more varied terrain.

Torque-Sensed Pedal Assist — Smooth, proportional power that responds to how hard you’re pushing. Natural-feeling on hills, junctions and longer stretches.

Carbon Belt Drive — Replaces the chain entirely. Silent, clean, maintenance-free. No oil, no rust, no adjusting. Quiet, reliable forward motion.

37V 10Ah Battery + Puncture-Proof Tyres — Slightly larger battery than the base Air 28, with improved efficiency from the automatic hub. Puncture-proof 700×45c tyres reduce the chance of an inconvenient interruption.

3.5" IPX7 Display + ADO Smart App — Clear, weather-resistant display with app connectivity for ride data, diagnostics and settings. Automatic sensor lights front and rear included as standard.

FAQs

What are the differences between the Air 28 Pro and the Air 28?

The Air 28 is a solid, capable e-bike — but the Pro version makes a number of upgrades that are worth knowing about before you decide. The most significant is the Bafang hub motor, which brings noticeably stronger performance across different terrain types compared to the standard model. Alongside that, the Pro runs an automatic transmission that takes care of gear changes for you, making for a smoother, more relaxed ride — particularly useful in stop-start traffic where the last thing you want is to be fiddling with a shifter.

What is the difference between the Air 28 Pro and Air 28 Ultra?

It comes down to the motor. The Air 28 Pro uses Bafang’s dual-speed system, which handles the vast majority of riding conditions with ease. The Air 28 Ultra steps up to a three-speed system, giving you stronger performance when the terrain demands it. If your rides are mostly urban and relatively straightforward, the Pro is excellent value. If you want more capability in reserve — steeper hills, more varied routes, a more powerful overall experience — the Ultra is the one to go for.

Electric Bike UK Laws

There are a few regulations surrounding electric bikes in the UK so we thought we would provide you with a summary of those below:

You must be aged 14 or over in the UK to ride an electric bike.

You do not need tax, insurance or a driving license to ride an electric bike.

To be classified as an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) in the UK, an electric bike must fulfil a certain set of criteria, including:

Pedals - The electric bike must have pedals capable of propelling it, and motor assistance should only be provided when the pedals are moving.
Motor - The motor’s power output must be no more than 250 watts (W).
Speed - The motor should not be able to propel the e-bike when it’s travelling faster than 15.5mph.

Please note that if your electric bike does not meet the above 3 points, then you cannot ride on public roads. Some of our bikes exceed the 250W limit, so these are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

It is the responsibility of the rider to wear protective clothing, however this is not a legal requirement.
