Description

The Dawes Arc electric folding bike has been upgraded with a refreshed design and almost doubled its range whilst keeping the classic simple fold features that have made it a renowned partner for commuting and leisurely trips.

It has an integrated 375wh battery that supplies you with up to 40 miles/64km of electrical assistance and can be charged in 5 hours. The power comes from the top-quality Bafang rear hub motor that provides 32nm of torque so gives you a great boost when tackling the steep inclines and makes it an effortless journey when breezing across flat surfaces. Another useful electrical component is the USB port that lets you charge your phone or other items whilst travelling to your endpoint.

Switch between several levels of assistance with the backlit handlebar display that also gives you other crucial figures relating to your ride like the battery level and speed. There is also a 1x7 speed Shimano Altus/Tourney gearing system installed that has an improved trigger shifter for easy gear shifts. Trustworthy mechanical disc brakes are fitted, so you can ride with peace of mind knowing that the reliable brakes will bring you to a definite stop when needed even in bad conditions.

The 20" wheels give you the ideal mixture of comfort, stability and speed, and make you feel like you are riding a bike with suspension but without the added weight. The bike can be folded in 3 simple steps and in less than 15 seconds, so can be stored away tidily whilst also being rapid to take back out and build again for your journey. Once it has been fully folded, the lightweight alloy frame ensures that the weight is low for carrying it off public transport or lifting it out of storage. It is also suitable for riders from 5'0" to 6'2" (152cm to 188cm).

Other convenient additions that are beneficial for all types of journeys are the full-length mudguards, kickstand and specially designed pannier rack.

Electric Bike UK Laws

There are a few regulations surrounding electric bikes in the UK so we thought we would provide you with a summary of those below:

You must be aged 14 or over in the UK to ride an electric bike.

You do not need tax, insurance or a driving license to ride an electric bike.

To be classified as an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) in the UK, an electric bike must fulfil a certain set of criteria, including:

Pedals - The electric bike must have pedals capable of propelling it, and motor assistance should only be provided when the pedals are moving.
Motor - The motor’s power output must be no more than 250 watts (W).
Speed - The motor should not be able to propel the e-bike when it’s travelling faster than 15.5mph.

Please note that if your electric bike does not meet the above 3 points, then you cannot ride on public roads. Some of our bikes exceed the 250W limit, so these are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

It is the responsibility of the rider to wear protective clothing, however this is not a legal requirement.
