Description

Most e-bikes ask you to adapt to them. A slightly awkward mounting position here, a riding posture that starts fine but gets uncomfortable after thirty minutes there. The ENGWE P275 Special Edition is designed the other way around — it adapts to how you actually ride, responds to how hard you're actually pedalling, and doesn't demand you think about it much at all.

The Smart Torque Sensor is the detail that makes the biggest day-to-day difference. Rather than simply detecting whether you're pedalling (cadence sensor) and applying a fixed level of assist, it reads your actual pedal pressure in real time. Push harder on a hill and it backs you up proportionally. Ease off on a flat section and it eases off too. The result is a riding experience that feels natural in a way that takes most people by surprise — like the bike is reading your mind rather than following a script.

Built for everyday distances — not just short hops

The 36V 13Ah removable battery delivers up to 100 km in PAS 1 mode, with 80 km in PAS 3 and 65 km in PAS 5. For a standard UK commute, that's several days of riding between charges. The battery removes easily for charging at home, at the office, or anywhere with a standard socket — no wheeling the bike to a plug point required.

A riding position that holds up over longer distances

The upright geometry and ergonomic saddle reduce strain on your back, wrists, and shoulders — the kind of comfort detail that matters little on a ten-minute test ride but makes a significant difference after a month of daily commuting. The 27.5×1.95" city tyres roll smoothly and efficiently on tarmac, carrying momentum without the rolling resistance of a fat tyre setup.

Commuter-ready from day one

Integrated front and rear lighting, 160mm hydraulic disc brakes, Shimano 7-speed gearing, and a clean LCD display mean the P275 SE arrives ready to use — nothing to add, nothing to adapt. At 24.4 kg with a 120 kg payload capacity, it's a practical, well-balanced step-through commuter electric bike that's designed to make daily riding easier rather than more complicated.

Key Features

Smart Torque Sensor — Reads your actual pedal pressure and responds in real time. Noticeably more natural than cadence-sensor alternatives — particularly on hills, stop-start city riding, and longer commutes where consistent, proportional assist makes a genuine difference.

Upright Step-Through Geometry — Easy mounting, relaxed posture, and reduced strain on back, wrists, and shoulders over longer rides. A riding position designed for daily use, not just a test ride around the block.

36V 13Ah Removable Battery — Up to 100 km — Charge at home or the office. Up to 100 km in PAS 1, 80 km in PAS 3, 65 km in PAS 5. Strong enough range that most commuters won't need to charge daily.

160mm Hydraulic Disc Brakes — Consistent, confident stopping in wet and dry conditions. A meaningful advantage over mechanical disc brakes on damp British mornings.

27.5×1.95" City Tyres — Smooth, efficient rolling on tarmac and cycle paths. Lighter and faster than fat tyres for riders whose routes are primarily urban and predictable.

Integrated Front & Rear Lighting — Built-in visibility for early mornings and evening commutes. Nothing to clip on, nothing to forget, nothing to charge separately.

Shimano 7-Speed Gearing — Smooth, reliable shifting for varied terrain and gradients. Lets you find the right cadence without fuss.

Electric Bike UK Laws

There are a few regulations surrounding electric bikes in the UK so we thought we would provide you with a summary of those below:

You must be aged 14 or over in the UK to ride an electric bike.

You do not need tax, insurance or a driving license to ride an electric bike.

To be classified as an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) in the UK, an electric bike must fulfil a certain set of criteria, including:

  • Pedals - The electric bike must have pedals capable of propelling it, and motor assistance should only be provided when the pedals are moving.
  • Motor - The motor’s power output must be no more than 250 watts (W).
  • Speed - The motor should not be able to propel the e-bike when it’s travelling faster than 15.5mph.

Please note that if your electric bike does not meet the above 3 points, then you cannot ride on public roads. Some of our bikes exceed the 250W limit, so these are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

It is the responsibility of the rider to wear protective clothing, however this is not a legal requirement.
