Description

There's a customer who comes to mind whenever someone asks about the Fiido Air. He was on the third floor of a Victorian conversion in Leeds, no lift, and a bike he'd given up carrying up the stairs months ago. What he wanted — without really knowing how to ask for it — was a bike he could actually live with in a flat. The Fiido Air is precisely that bike.

At just 13.75 kg, it's one of the lightest fully-equipped commuter e-bikes available in the UK today. The precision-engineered carbon fibre frame — winner of the Red Dot Design Award — isn't decorative. It's genuinely transformative for the kind of rider who needs to carry their bike upstairs, onto a packed commuter train, or in and out of tight storage daily. What used to feel like a chore becomes an afterthought.

Engineered for clean, smooth, daily riding

The GATES carbon belt drive replaces the traditional chain entirely — no oil, no rust, no grease on your work trousers. Combined with the Mivice torque sensor and 250W motor, every ride is smooth, quiet, and genuinely satisfying. The torque sensor reads your pedal effort and responds naturally, so the assistance amplifies your cycling rather than overriding it. For city riding — traffic, junctions, the occasional hill — this feels as close to effortless as a lightweight electric bike gets.

Premium by design, practical by intent

The Fiido Air is deliberately minimalist. No unnecessary bulk, no feature creep — just the things that matter done very well. Hydraulic disc brakes give you composed, reliable stopping across varied urban surfaces. High-grip commuter tyres handle the mixed conditions of British roads without drama. And the clean lines mean it looks as good leaning against your desk as it does moving through traffic.

If you want a carbon fibre electric bike for daily urban commuting — lightweight enough to carry without thinking twice, refined enough to feel like a considered purchase years from now — the Fiido Air is a standout choice.

Key Features

GATES CDN Carbon Belt Drive — Clean, Silent, Zero-Maintenance

Mivice Torque Sensor + 250W Motor — Natural, Responsive Assist

Electric Bike UK Laws

There are a few regulations surrounding electric bikes in the UK so we thought we would provide you with a summary of those below:

You must be aged 14 or over in the UK to ride an electric bike.

You do not need tax, insurance or a driving license to ride an electric bike.

To be classified as an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) in the UK, an electric bike must fulfil a certain set of criteria, including:

  • Pedals - The electric bike must have pedals capable of propelling it, and motor assistance should only be provided when the pedals are moving.
  • Motor - The motor’s power output must be no more than 250 watts (W).
  • Speed - The motor should not be able to propel the e-bike when it’s travelling faster than 15.5mph.

Please note that if your electric bike does not meet the above 3 points, then you cannot ride on public roads. Some of our bikes exceed the 250W limit, so these are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

It is the responsibility of the rider to wear protective clothing, however this is not a legal requirement.

What people like

This bike is highly regarded for its remarkably light carbon fiber construction, offering an agile and natural riding feel akin to a non-electric bicycle. Reviewers frequently praise its excellent value, considering the advanced technology such as a fingerprint scanner and smartwatch integration included at its price point. While it excels as an urban commuter and for leisurely rides on flat terrain due to its smooth and quiet pedal assist, its single-speed drivetrain and limited motor power mean it's not ideal for steep hills or high-speed performance. The sleek, minimalist design, with its hidden battery and low-maintenance belt drive, is a major draw, although the absence of a traditional display and some associated app and smartwatch usability quirks are noted as minor drawbacks.

Pros

  • Ultra-lightweight design: Weighing around 30-33 lbs, it's one of the lightest e-bikes available, making it agile, easy to carry, and quick to maneuver.
  • Carbon fiber construction: Features a full carbon fiber frame, fork, handlebar, and seat post, contributing to its light weight and comfortable ride by absorbing vibrations.
  • Exceptional value: Offers advanced features like a carbon fiber build, integrated tech, and a smartwatch at a competitive price point under $2,000.
  • Integrated security tech: Includes a frame-integrated fingerprint scanner for security and a smartwatch that offers features like smart unlock and bike status monitoring.
  • Sleek, minimalist aesthetic: Boasts clean lines, hidden cables, a fully integrated battery, and no bulky display, giving it the appearance of a regular bike.
  • Smooth, quiet ride: Equipped with a Gates Carbon Belt drive and a MIVICE motor, providing a silent, refined, and smooth pedaling experience.
  • Low maintenance: The single-speed Gates Carbon Belt drive system requires less upkeep compared to traditional chains and is grease-free.
  • Responsive pedal assist: Features a torque sensor that ensures the motor kicks in quickly and provides natural-feeling power assistance.
