Description

To tell you the truth, the jump from the Ridge 1.0 to the Ridge 2.0 is more significant than the version number suggests. This isn't a mild refresh — it's a meaningful step up in motor performance, gearing quality, braking confidence, and display functionality. If the 1.0 is the entry point to the Ridge family, the 2.0 is where things get properly interesting.

The headline upgrade is the Bafang rear hub motor, now delivering 45Nm of torque — up from 32Nm on the 1.0. In real-world riding that's a noticeable improvement on climbs and in stop-start situations. Combined with the Shimano Cues 1x9 speed gearing and wide 11-46T cassette, you've got a genuinely versatile drivetrain that handles everything from gradual trail climbs to punchy short ascents. The Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes — front 180mm, rear 160mm — are a significant step up from cable disc, with that progressive, reliable feel that matters most when you're coming off a descent in the wet.

A display that gives you far more to work with

One of the most practical upgrades on the Ridge 2.0 is the colour display with handlebar-mounted remote. This is a meaningful improvement over the simpler display on the 1.0 — you can now access 5 pedal assist modes and cycle through a genuinely comprehensive set of ride data: current speed, max speed, average speed, battery level, total range, trip range, energy consumed, and even CO₂ saved. All of it accessible via a small remote without taking your hands from the bars. Walk assist mode is included as standard.

The same capable trail character — refined

The Ridge 2.0 retains the 27.5" (650b) wheel format that gives the Ridge family its nimble, responsive character on UK trails and path networks. The 120mm travel suspension fork with hydraulic lockout handles mixed terrain without drama. The 2.35" wide Ralson Vector tyres — now available with a distinctive tan wall finish on the 2.0 — grip confidently across the mixed surfaces you actually ride in Britain. Wide 780mm aluminium bars and a short stem keep the cockpit feeling precise and planted.

The integrated 375Wh battery provides up to 40 miles of assisted range, removable via key for flexible charging and secured with a built-in lock. It's the same battery platform as the Ridge 1.0, which means it delivers the same solid everyday performance — but now powering a more capable drivetrain and motor.

Available in Medium (5'4"–5'10") and Large (5'10"–6'2"). If you want a 27.5" electric mountain bike with proper hydraulic brakes, Shimano Cues gearing, a colour display, and a more powerful motor — the Ridge 2.0 makes a compelling case.

Key Features

Bafang Rear Hub Motor — 250W / 45Nm Torque
Upgraded from 32Nm on the Ridge 1.0. The difference is noticeable on climbs and in stop-start situations. Smooth, consistent power delivery that supports your riding naturally.

Shimano Cues 1x9 Speed Gearing — 11-46T Cassette
An upgrade over the Ridge 1.0's 8-speed Altus setup. Wider range, better quality shifts, and Shadow design on the rear derailleur for cleaner cable routing. Handles UK trail terrain with ease.

Shimano MT200 Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Front 180mm, rear 160mm. A significant step up from cable disc. Progressive, confident stopping in wet and dry conditions — exactly what you need on a trail descent in British weather.

Colour Display + Handlebar Remote — 5 Assist Modes
A practical upgrade over the Ridge 1.0's simpler display. Access speed, max speed, average speed, battery level, total range, trip range, energy consumed, and CO₂ saved — all from a thumb-operated remote without leaving the bars.

Integrated 375Wh Battery — Up to 40 Miles Range
Removable via key for flexible charging on or off the bike. Integrated security lock for peace of mind in public. Charges from flat in 5 hours.

27.5" (650b) Wheels — Agile Trail Handling
Nimble and responsive on tighter trail sections and technical paths. A natural fit for UK forest paths, bridleways, and mixed-surface leisure routes.

120mm Travel Suspension Fork — Hydraulic Lockout
Absorbs roots, rocks, and uneven ground without demanding your full attention. Lock out on smooth sections to ride more efficiently.

2.35" Ralson Vector Tyres — Tan Wall
Confident grip on mixed UK surfaces. The tan wall finish adds a visual character that distinguishes the Ridge 2.0 from the 1.0 at a glance.

780mm Aluminium Handlebars + Walk Assist Mode
Wide bars for precise trail control. Walk assist engages the motor gently for those steep push sections that are better walked than ridden.

6061 Aluminium Frame — Internal Cable Routing
Clean, durable, and tidy. Available in Medium and Large to suit riders from 5'4" to 6'2".

Electric Bike UK Laws

There are a few regulations surrounding electric bikes in the UK so we thought we would provide you with a summary of those below:

You must be aged 14 or over in the UK to ride an electric bike.

You do not need tax, insurance or a driving license to ride an electric bike.

To be classified as an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) in the UK, an electric bike must fulfil a certain set of criteria, including:

  • Pedals - The electric bike must have pedals capable of propelling it, and motor assistance should only be provided when the pedals are moving.
  • Motor - The motor’s power output must be no more than 250 watts (W).
  • Speed - The motor should not be able to propel the e-bike when it’s travelling faster than 15.5mph.

Please note that if your electric bike does not meet the above 3 points, then you cannot ride on public roads. Some of our bikes exceed the 250W limit, so these are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

It is the responsibility of the rider to wear protective clothing, however this is not a legal requirement.
