You can rest assured that your SX-250 will be safe and sound with our key fob and keyless go system with an alarm. Equipped with an immobiliser as well as a centre and side stand for security and storage.

What are the rules regarding this bike?

Anyone over the age of 14 can ride the SX-250 on the road, in cycle and bus lanes, without requiring a CBT or driving licence. As with any e-bike, insurance is not a requirement.

But you do not have to use this bike specifically for urban rides! It is also perfectly equipped for rural roads and is more than capable of tackling their steep slopes and inclines.

Electric Bike UK Laws

There are a few regulations surrounding electric bikes in the UK so we thought we would provide you with a summary of those below:

You must be aged 14 or over in the UK to ride an electric bike.

You do not need tax, insurance or a driving license to ride an electric bike.

To be classified as an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC) in the UK, an electric bike must fulfil a certain set of criteria, including:

Pedals - The electric bike must have pedals capable of propelling it, and motor assistance should only be provided when the pedals are moving.
Motor - The motor’s power output must be no more than 250 watts (W).
Speed - The motor should not be able to propel the e-bike when it’s travelling faster than 15.5mph.

Please note that if your electric bike does not meet the above 3 points, then you cannot ride on public roads. Some of our bikes exceed the 250W limit, so these are only to be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

It is the responsibility of the rider to wear protective clothing, however this is not a legal requirement.
